Ok, so I know that this is not my first time posting about Jerome, AZ...19 miles away. For review: little sleepy ghost town turned artist colony, biker bar, crazy buildings that look like they are going to slide of the mountain, the guy who built the weird three wheeler with reclining seats for star tours...remember? Anyway, new claim to fame... wait, first a little info...Scottsdale is FULL of itself, Scottsdale thinks its so great, definitely the mecca for everything "best" in Arizona... Sedona thinks it is so great also...but in a "we're cool because we don't care if we're cook" kind of way. You've all heard of Scottsdale, and Sedona I'm sure...I don't know if any of you knew Prescott before we moved here and I would be shocked if any of you have been to Jerome...which at his point, I have definitely oversold... or so I thought. When we are without our children, Ike and my favorite restaurant is "The Asylum" in Jerome. It is this quirky little half Victorian/half Beatnik restaurant on the top of the Hotel Jerome, on top of the hill in Jerome. The views are unbelievable, but we return because of the food!!! However, we might have a hard time getting in now that the Wall Street Journal has printed an article on McCain and Obama's favorite restaurant and McCain has named "The Asylum" his favorite restaurant in Arizona!!!! Take that Scottsdale and Sedona! I am happy anytime those two take a hit...although my favorite pizza is in Sedona and there are at least three mexican rest. in Scottsdale that put every other mexican restaurant I've ever been to to shame. Ok, here's the link: Jerome Rocks!!! Seriously, I have oversold, you will be disappointed...
